Where we are
Serenella, an oasis of greenery tranquillity between the valley of  Vara and the Cinque Terre.
Situated 2 Km from SS1 (state road Aurelia), the Serenella hamlet is connected by a pleasant, uncongested network of routes. The large old house belonging to the great grandparents of the friendly lady owner - Ms Serena - was fully refurbished by using conventional building materials. There, the passion for past times and need for today's comforts combine beautifully: spacious, individually designed rooms that reflect the history of this unique property, each equipped with bathroom and satellite TV, a cosy countryside dining room where guests can enjoy their breakfast, a distinctive kitchenette, a sunny terrace and two wide outdoor areas equipped with tables, wooden benches and a barbecue for guest's use, with a great view on the valley.  The property provides free shady parkings. In the rusting dining room one can view movies, CDs and DVDs containing a grea deal of pictures showing charming locations in the eastern Riviera, Valley of Vara, Valley of Magra and the paths marked by the CAI (Italian Alpine Club). From Serenella one can reach the neighbouring Cinque Terre (the so-called "Five Lands" including Riomaggiore, Manarola, Corniglia, Vernazza and Monterosso) and the ancient fishing towns of Portovenere and Levanto through the paths marked by CAI along itineraies that offer gorgeous views.  By this unique location one can easily reach by car or bus the many historic and tourist places in the surroundings. Just to mention the pictoresque villages in the Cinque Terre; Middle Ages villages in the Valley of the Vara river ( Brugnato, Varese Ligure, Pignone); sea towns in the Gulf of Poets (La Spezia, Lerici, tellaro, Portovenere); ancient towns in the valley of  the Magra river (Sarzana, Luni, Montemarcello); renowned tourist places in the Gulf of Tigullio (Sestri Levante, Chiavari, Rapallo, S.Margherita ligure, Portofino, Camogli); smart towns in the Versilia Coast (Forte dei marmi, Viareggio). World finest art towns such as Genoa (1hr), Pisa (1 hr), Florence (1 h 30 mins) are all within easy reach. This territory is crossed by tracks and paths for nature lovers - whether walkers, trekkers, mountain bikers or photographers. Local activities include tennis, football, bowls, archery facilities. There is a renowned canoeing school on the Vara river. A swimming pool is available at La Spezia (15 mins by car). Rock climbers can enjoy the mount of Muzzerone cliffs dropping down into the sea maintened by the Italian Alpine Club.
